P&G “thank you mom”
A campaign that created an emotional connection between everyone and their company without showing a single product.
This ad campaign by Proctor and Gamble is one of the most brilliant ad campaigns ever thought of and produced. P&G sells frankly very boring products over 34 different brands. This campaign put all of these brands under one roof. Everyone felt the emotional connection with them all. This makes everyone want their products, because the emotional reaction you have from the ads create a feeling of credibility and you feel more a part of their brand. P&G knew the audience that was watching the 2010 Olympics. They used this knowledge in order to manipulate their audience when they aired the ad during the 2010 Olympics.
This ad campaign is called “thank you mom”. It shows videos of mothers helping children through hardships. This makes people watch because nobody likes to watch the normal ad talking about a product, but people don’t mind watching something that is just a video. It doesn’t show anything that promotes their products until the very end. Right before they show who made the ad, they thank all moms. This creates a very genuine feel to the ad. Everyone that has a mom can connect to this ad. Everyone had hardships growing up, most of which had their moms as support. This makes everyone feel connected to the company.
